Keith Prince, London Assembly Member for Havering and Redbridge, and Sam Holland the Conservative Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Dagenham and Rainham, have launched the ‘Stop Rainham Quarry’ survey to gather views on the proposals for a new quarry in Rainham.
If approved, this new 50-acre site will be quarrying 2 million tonnes of sand and gravel for up to 20 years, with 114 two-way Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) movements per day.
Speaking of the proposals, Sam Holland told the Havering Daily: “People in Rainham are tired of not being listened to, what with the ongoing issues at Launders Lane, and the legacy impact of the Wennington fires. Rainham cannot cope with yet more heavy industry blighting local peoples lives. Its vital as many people speak up so Havering council get the message”.
Please complete the survey below expressing your views on these plans. The more completed surveys we have, the more that can be passed to Havering Council.
